Props

Work books that will be in possession of the victims character so it can give the audience an idea of who the stalker has taken.

We will need keys to be part f the victims character as it will be a sign of her identity.

These scissors will be part of the stalker it is a prop that he always has because he cuts out lots of pictures for his obsessive portfolio.

A portfolio that the stalker makes of his obsessions of girls that his obsessed with and follows, and our main character appears on it,which could count as a clue in the title sequence.

The phone the victim will have and is part of her character , she always has it with her

A balaclava which the stalker will wear so he doesn't show his identity

Garage Band

In one of our media lessons we have created our own sound through the use of garage band therefore allowing us to expand our knowledge and create a soundtrack for the movie , 10 thing I hate about you. We used a variety of sounds to create a upbeat track to go along with the movie, this was successful as the sounds fade in with the film very well. We found it very easy and useful as we were able to explore all the different sounds available for when to start to create our own title sequence, there were lots of different sounds available for all sorts of genres e.g horror, comedy, romance and action.

In this screen grab we used the Movie type as we already had the film saved on to another document, where as when we create a soundtrack we will have to use loops as our film will not be completed yet. Which we will then later on embedded into the film through final cut pro, however we can make a rough cut of our title sequence so we can get a idea of what sounds we can use.

Therefore garage band is going to a key aspect when completing our title sequence, providing us with lots of different sounds even ones such as footsteps and screams through the use of foley sounds. This
will make our title sequence seem more realistic and effective allowing us to create a good soundtrack.

Characters

Characters

Summer- the role that summer will play is the role of the main character. We plan for this role to be a character that is just an ordinary girl. Someone that goes to school hangs out with their friends and just has an ordinary life. However we see a different side to this character when she notices a person following her. We plan to show this character being paranoid, jumpy and really show the fear that she feels from being ‘watched’.

Bushra- the role of the stalker is someone who’s face that will not be seen. The mystery of this will allow us to make our title opening very interesting. It will make the audience very interested on who this person is. This character will end up following summer wherever she goes. At home, at school, at the park and even at a cafĂ©. The mystery and horror of this is that the stalker will be masked it makes the audience as well as summers character very scared.

Audiences

In media you can get many audiences.

Theoretical audiences

Theoretical audiences are audiences that are imagined for the purpose of helping the speaker compose or practice, or a critic to understand, a rhetorical text or speech.

Self as audience (self-deliberation

When a rhetor deeply considers, questions, and deliberates over the content of the ideas they are conveying, it can be said that these individuals are addressing the audience of self, or self-deliberating. The audience of self, while not serving as the ends to all rhetorical purpose or circumstance, nevertheless acts as a type of audience that not only operates as a function of self-help, but as instrument used to discover the available means of persuasion.

Universal audiences

The universal audience is an imagined audience that serves as an ethical and argumentative test for the rhetor. This also requires the speaker to imagine a composite audience that contains individuals from diverse backgrounds and to discern whether or not the content of the rhetorical text or speech would appeal to individuals within that audience. The concept of the universal audience has received criticism for being idealistic because it can be considered as an impediment in achieving persuasive effect with particular audiences. Yet, it still may be useful as an ethical guide for a speaker and a critical tool for a reader or audience.

Ideal audiences

An ideal audience is a rhetor's imagined, intended audience. In creating a rhetorical text, a rhetor imagines a target audience, a group of individuals that will be addressed, persuaded, or affected by the speech or rhetorical text. This type of audience is not necessarily imagined as the most receptive audience, but as the future particular audience that the rhetor will engage with. Imagining such an audience allows a rhetor to formulate appeals that will grant success in engaging with the future particular audience. In considering an ideal audience, a rhetor can imagine future conditions of mediation, size, demographics, and shared beliefs among the audience to be persuaded..

Implied audiences

An implied audience is an imaginary audience determined by an auditor or reader as the text's constructed audience. The implied audience is not the actual audience, but the one that can be inferred by reading or analyzing the text. A critic could also determine what the text wants that audience to become or do after the rhetorical situation.

With our title sequence it is aimed to a wide range audience as it is aimed to any sort of audience, hopefully our title sequence will attract a wide audience.

An example from a website where it tells you the type of audiences that watch certain films and also there hobbies and there lifestyles.

This is an example of an audience , as you can see you can get all different ranges of people to be part of an audience.

Institutions

The institutions we have decided to use come from the Company Credits of the film Taken, as this was the film that inspired us to create our title sequence. Despite the fact it is not a teen movie it still links into the sub-genre of teen films, as it starts off about two young girls travelling together to see their favourite band. Therefore the secondary target audience would be young teenage girls, this is one of the reason why we have chosen to create a film similar to this as it can appeal to a wide audience.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0936501/companycredits?ref_=tt_dt_co - This is the link which shows the different company credits the film Taken has and why we have chosen to have a certain institution.

The 20th Century Fox is a well known distributor for all types of films, tv programmes, home entertainment, Gif and the simpsons. It would be effective to use this institution as a distributor because the audience will recognize it and it will persuade them to want to see the film even more. This is because 20th century fox has distributed lots of successful films e.g Taken, therefore the audience will automatically assume that our new film will be just as good through wacthing the title sequence.

This is the production company which the film Taken used. Therefore I researched a bit about the company as it was not as well known as 20th century fox, therefore was a smaller company. It is one of the major feature film producers in France and Europe and is a independent studio that both produces and distributes films. Therefore through researching about this company I have found that it would be more successful to use Europ Corp as the main company as it both produces and distributes the film allowing it become a more successful institution.
