Institutions

The institutions we have decided to use come from the Company Credits of the film Taken, as this was the film that inspired us to create our title sequence. Despite the fact it is not a teen movie it still links into the sub-genre of teen films, as it starts off about two young girls travelling together to see their favourite band. Therefore the secondary target audience would be young teenage girls, this is one of the reason why we have chosen to create a film similar to this as it can appeal to a wide audience.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0936501/companycredits?ref_=tt_dt_co - This is the link which shows the different company credits the film Taken has and why we have chosen to have a certain institution.

The 20th Century Fox is a well known distributor for all types of films, tv programmes, home entertainment, Gif and the simpsons. It would be effective to use this institution as a distributor because the audience will recognize it and it will persuade them to want to see the film even more. This is because 20th century fox has distributed lots of successful films e.g Taken, therefore the audience will automatically assume that our new film will be just as good through wacthing the title sequence.

This is the production company which the film Taken used. Therefore I researched a bit about the company as it was not as well known as 20th century fox, therefore was a smaller company. It is one of the major feature film producers in France and Europe and is a independent studio that both produces and distributes films. Therefore through researching about this company I have found that it would be more successful to use Europ Corp as the main company as it both produces and distributes the film allowing it become a more successful institution.
