Stereotypes show the audience how the world views that
person. High school dramas usually support stereotypes and youth dramas
challenge stereotypes.
Jocks are seen as very muscular boys who play sports and
don’t care about their education. They are also players and usually date the
cheerleaders.
Nerds are the boys/girls that usually wear glasses and braces
and really care about their education. They get picked on by the jocks.
Emos are the teenagers who wear all black and sit in the back
of the classroom listening to music and drawing in their scrapbooks.
Cheerleaders are the top of the school food chain. They are
the most popular and beautiful girls. The girls want to be them and the boys
want to date them.
Loners are the boys/girls who enjoy their own company. They
are very antisocial and avoid going to high school social events such as prom
or football games.
Bimbos are usually blonde girls who are very dumb and usually
just follow around the ‘queen bee’ and get ordered around.
